If you are a senior looking for a way to keep your natural teeth for a lifetime, our Professional Dental & Implant Center team is happy to help you! There are some things you can do to keep your chompers nice and strong, and those things are keep up on oral hygiene, visit your dentist, and have a healthy diet. However, we understand that diets can be confusing and overwhelming at times, so we are happy to make things a bit easier for you. If you do the following things, you will be on the right track:

· Eat the right foods: Making smart and healthy food choices will help you more than you know. We recommend choosing to eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, turkey, chicken, and fish. Please do your best to limit processed foods.
· Consume the right beverages: Sugary drinks can harm your smile in many ways. They can also lead to obesity, so it’s best to avoid these drinks. We also recommend limiting your alcohol intake because it can irritate the sensitive lining of the mouth and can increase your risk of having oral cancer.
· Get enough calcium: Calcium is a very important mineral to have in your diet. It can prevent bone loss, osteoporosis, and tooth loss. The best way to get the calcium you need is to eat cheese, yogurt, broccoli, spinach, kale, and Swiss chard as well as drink low-fat dairy milk.
